The
Kumble Theater
The newly opened Kumble Theater
for the Performing Arts is an elegant, 320-seat,
state-of-the-art performance space. Located
in the heart of downtown Brooklyn and a ten
minute drive from Manhattan, the Kumble Theater
is the centerpiece of a Campus cultural center
that also includes a Black Box Theater for smaller
and experimental performances, dance and music
rehearsal rooms and the glass-enclosed Humanities
Building Gallery within the theater lobby. The
Kumble Theater is equipped with a 24 ft. by
14 ft. viewing screen with a top of the line
7700 lumens video projector and 5.1 surround
sound, capable of screening multiple video formats.
Spike Lee Screening Room
The Spike Lee Screening Room,
175 seat theater, is a capable of exhibiting
a broad range of today's media formats, including
DVCPro, DVCAM, Mini-DV, 16mm film, Betacam SP,
DVD, audio CD and VHS, all with full stereo
sound. The SLS Room was created, in part, by
a donation from Brooklyn born filmmaker Spike
Lee, director of “Do The Right Thing.”
