Pre-festival duties include logging in & organizing submitted films, faxing/emailing submission applications to festival coordinator (coordinator@reelsister.org), maintaining list of films logged in & emailing to festival coordinator, emailing film stills that arrive in office on DVD to festival coordinator, ensuring each film plays in DVD player, promoting the film festival, distributing fliers and other festival related duties. Attend volunteer meetings when necessary.

Festival duties include providing information about films, handing out journals and film schedules, checking in filmmakers and assisting them with their needs, directing viewers to the box office to get tickets, handing out and collecting mailing list surveys, handing out and collecting audience ballots for each film, directing people to sign up for the African Voices/Reel Sisters mailing list, introducing visitors to African Voices, assisting with award ceremony in whatever capacity requested, and other festival related duties that may arise.

Post-festival duties include returning films to filmmakers who sent self-addressed stamped envelopes, preparing package for awards to be sent to filmmakers who were unable to attend the awards ceremony, filing away films & paperwork. Attend follow-up meeting if necessary.
